New Haven Parks and Recreation hosted a special end of the season celebration for their first Farmers Market.  The celebration took place at Schnelker Park on October 25th.  The festivities included the Soarin’ Hawk Raptor Rehabilitators who had a showcase of live birds and also provided educational information about the birds.  There was also an assortment of apples, squash, pumpkins, gourds, and some delicious apple cider! You could also purchase a variety of crafted goods, including necklaces, decorations, aprons, and cornhole bags.  The goal of the Farmers Market was to bring families out to meet local farmers and crafters, and I think it’s safe to say it was a success!  Hopefully this will return again next year.  I was glad to see something like this offered here in New Haven!
