Earth First, LLC. Announces Groundbreaking of New Recycling Center and Transfer Facility

Earth First is pleased to announce the groundbreaking of its new Recycling Center and Transfer Facility. The groundbreaking will be held on Tuesday, December 4 at 11:00 AM at 4429 Allen Martin Dr. This new facility will be Northeast Indiana’s only complete construction and demolition recycling operation. It will also allow for expanded recycling in the manufacturing and commercial sectors. Earth First’s new recycling center will help to meet the growing demands for sustainability through the reuse and recycling of a large number of materials. These include brick, block, concrete, drywall, wood, cardboard, plastics, metals, glass and paper. This new 20,000 sq ft facility will contain a sorting line for separation of materials, a baler for preparation of materials for shipment, loading docks and trailer bay for shipping residual wastes. The new recycling center will represent an investment of nearly $2 million dollars and 15 new jobs in an area hard hit by the loss of Navistar. The new facility will open in the Spring of 2013.
