The 2013 New Haven Canal Days Festival is set to welcome several new and exciting events this year!  The first of these events will take place on Wednesday, June 6th, 2013 at 7 pm when ‘New Haven’s Got Talent’ takes to the brand-new-at-Canal-Days Main Stage for a fun evening of showmanship and scene stealing!

A grand prize of $100 is up for grabs at ‘New Haven’s Got Talent’, and the winner will be selected by our three Celebrity Judges.  The Festival Committee is pleased to welcome 3 well known individuals to our ‘New Haven’s Got Talent’ Celebrity Judges panel.

Judge #1, Johnny TinCap, is a well-known, much loved area favorite who really knows how to entertain a crowd.  In 2012, Johnny entertained a record-setting crowd at the TinCaps home games with annual attendance of well over 408,000 fans.  Don’t expect him to say a whole lot during the show, but for sure he’ll have a big smile on his face the entire time!

Lincoln Kaleigh Schrock, Judge #2, knows a thing or two about winning as he has won multiple titles and championships during his 4 seasons with the Fort Wayne Komets.  Schrock is a Fort Wayne native who grew up cheering for the Komets before heading to Neumann College where he helped to win the 2009 Division III Men’s Ice Hockey NCAA Title during his fourth season.  As a three time winner of the Komets “Mr. Hustle Award”, winner of the “Rookie of the Year” award in 2009-2010, and the Wiegmann Family “True Komet” award in 2010-2011, Mr. Schrock (#79) has skated in over 200 games with the Komets during his 4 year career.

Judge #3, Kent Hormann, is certainly a familiar voice to Allen County with broadcasting experience that spans three decades.  As one of the most well-known sports media figures in the Fort Wayne area, Mr. Hormann has led the Sports Department of NBC-33 in addition to announcing TinCaps home baseball games and IPFW sporting events.  Mr. Hormann currently hosts his own sports-centric webcast, Sportswise, that airs every Monday from 5 pm-6 pm on in partnership with Allen County Voice.
