Senior, Jordan Hogue, dominates both on the field and in the classroom. Hogue has a 10.02 grade point average and is ranked 18th in his class. Hogue says his education comes first, he’s a student then an athlete. In fact, his current number one goal is to get into a great college and graduate. To prepare himself, Hogue studies every night after practice and completes all of his homework on time. Jordan is undecided on his major but is leaning towards nutritional science, exercise science or physical therapy. Hogue says his parents have always supported him and helped him stay focused on his studies and he inspires to be like them one day.

Aside from his academics, Hogue participates in football and basketball at New Haven. He recently received a scholarship offer from Ball State University for football. Hogue says football has been his passion since the second grade. He learned many of his skills from his dad, who also played in high school. He says the key to being a good football player is hard work and dedication. During the games Jordan says the crowd always motivates him and he recently broke the school record for career receiving yards. When asked who was the best player on the football team Hogue responded, “There’s no best player on the field, my teammates and I all equally work together to get the job done”. Jordan says that a big misconception about him is that he’s “big headed” and take things for granted. He says that every accomplishment is a blessing and he’s working hard to reach for the stars and be someone in life. Hogue’s advice to anyone who wants to be like him is: don’t be like him, be better.
