New Haven’s own Keith Edmonds was recently given a special recognition. Edmonds, who is one of the assistant principals at New Haven High School, was inducted into Simpson College’s basketball Hall of Fame. He was awarded this recognition thanks to his achievements in basketball during his college career. Simpson College was Edmond’s first choice when choosing a college to attend. When he went to visit, he realized how much he loved it and knew it was the school for him. The atmosphere and environment were some of the key things that drew him to Simpson. While playing basketball, Edmonds worked to achieve a Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Education and Health. He also received a minor in Social Studies. Edmonds attended Simpson College from 1980-1983 and graduated in May of 1983.

Edmonds did not always plan to become an administrator but, after he retired from coaching in 2007, realized it was the perfect fit for him. He is proud of his accomplishments and wants to see others follow in his footsteps because he knows that his students are capable. He believes that hard work truly does pay off for those who pursue their dreams with all of their energy and heart. Edmond’s main passion in life is to help others become the best that they can be. He also wants to improve himself to the point where he can one day lead his own his school. There is no other occupation that he is interested in because Edmonds loves what he does.
