MARGARET B. PHILLIPS, 94, passed away peacefully on Monday, Jan. 20, 2014, at Golden Years Homestead, Fort Wayne. The Philipsburg, Pa. native was the daughter of the late Oliver and Maude Smith. On Dec. 28, 1942, she married Boyd Phillips the day before he left to serve in the Army during World War II; he preceded her in death on Jan. 27, 1994. Margaret lived in Philipsburg until moving to New Haven in 1965. She was a talented seamstress, and upon moving to New Haven she worked at and retired from Revco Drug Store. She was a member of New Haven United Methodist Church. She is survived by her three daughters, Lona (Perry) Young of Waterloo, Kay Truesdell of Auburn and Joanne (Doug) Sawyer of Albion; stepson, Rev. Robert (Sally) Phillips of Knoxville, Tenn.; three grandchildren, Jenny (Ted) Meyers of Fremont, Kristi (Mike) Ondrovich of New Carlisle and Jon (Mandy) Young of Waterloo; and by the loves of her life her five great-grandchildren, Emily and Samantha Meyers, Aaron and Ethan Young, and Sarah Ondrovich. She was also preceded in death by her two brothers, five sisters and infant great-granddaughter, Nora Young. Funeral service is 11 a.m. Wednesday at E. Harper & Son Funeral Home, 740 St. Rd. 930 E., New Haven, with calling one hour prior. Pastor Chuck Fenwick officiating. Burial in I.O.O.F. Cemetery, New Haven.
