BYRON GERALD PETERS, 39, died Saturday, May 31, 2014 at Hospice Home, Fort Wayne, after losing the battle to kidney and liver disease. Born in Radford, Va., he graduated from Concordia Lutheran High School in 1993 and attended Vicennes University. He was previously employed by Fort Wayne Newspapers and was the owner and operator of the 412 Club. Byron loved children and coached several years at St. Joe Little League and later served as president. He was an avid sports enthusiast. He had a unique sense of humor, loved to make people laugh, and was quite the prankster. “To know him was to love him!” Surviving are his children, Tyler Garrett Peters, 16 and Katie Marie Peters, 8 years old of Fort Wayne; mother, R. Joy (David) Sprague of New Haven; siblings, Winona Gooding of New Haven, David (Jennifer) Sprague of Fort Wayne, John (Bonnie) Sprague of Monroeville and Sara (Dennis) Freeman of Fort Wayne; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Gerald Peters. Funeral service is 11 a.m. Tuesday at E. Harper & Son Funeral Home, 740 St. Rd. 930 E., New Haven, with calling one hour prior.
