EUGENE STEPHEN, JR., age 82, of Kendallville, died on Saturday, June 14, 2014 at Vibra Hospital of Fort Wayne.
Mr. Stephen was born in Fort Wayne, Indiana on October 30, 1931 to the late Eugene and Freda (Johnson) Stephen. He attended Northside High School in Fort Wayne and graduated from Lincoln High School in San Francisco, California in 1951. He entered into the United States Marine Corps in 1951and served his country until 1954 in Japan during the Korean War. He married Sandra Lee Herald on March 25, 1962 at the EUB Church in Kendallville. Gene was an auditor with Lincoln National Corporation in Fort Wayne for 33 years. He was an avid golfer and loved spending winters in Florida playing golf. He was a member of the Kendallville Elks Lodge, the V.F.W. Post 2749, the American Legion Post 86 and he attended the First Church of God in Kendallville

Wife, Sandra Stephen of Kendallville.
Daughter, Pam and Dan Diagostino of Zionsville, Indiana.
Daughter, Deb and Tony Rhoades of Kendallville.
Daughter, Cinda and Kerry Meeks of Tampa, Florida.
Son, Jeff and Stephanie Stephen of New Haven.
Nephew, Jack and Julie Stephen of Fort Wayne.
Eight grandchildren: Gaby and Izzy Diagostino; Kimmy Rhoades; Andrew and Christopher Meeks;
Dan, Sam and Connor Stephen; and great grandson to be Charlie.
Brother, Don Stephen of Orville, California.
Several nieces and nephews.

He was also preceded in death by his stepmother, Maxine M. (Marshall) Stephen; two brothers, Roy Stephen and Jack Stephen; and sister, Laura Jean Bland.

Visitation and memorial services with military honors will be Wednesday, June 18, 2014 at Hite Funeral Home, 403 South Main Street in Kendallville. Visitation will take place from 3:00-6:00pm with the memorial service beginning at 6:00pm. Pastor Jim Kane and Pastor Regan Ford will officiate the service. Military honors will be conducted by members of the honor guard teams of the American Legion Post 86, American Legion Post 381, V.F.W. Post 2749, and active duty troops.
Preferred memorials may be made to American Heart Association or the Humane Society of Noble County.
