Volunteers and Donations Needed

WHO: All ages of community volunteers are invited to join Friends of the Parks, Parks and Recreation staff from New Haven, Fort Wayne, and Allen County Parks

WHAT: 13th Annual Great Tree Canopy Comeback, a grassroots tree planting movement to combat the critical loss of trees in the area due to pests and disease. Volunteers will be planting trees in Werling Park this year.

WHEN: Saturday, November 1st starting at 10 am.

WHERE: Werling Park, 1510 Werling Road, New Haven, IN (New Haven Location).

BACKGROUND: The Great Tree Canopy Comeback is our community tree planting day organized by volunteers with Friends of the Parks and area parks departments to combat this critical loss of trees. Over the past ten years, we have planted more than 2000 trees in our parks – it’s the Great Tree Canopy Comeback! Volunteers are still needed! Volunteers are asked to register in advance and bring a shovel (marked with name and telephone). Badges and t-shirts will be handed out to volunteers, while supply lasts.
