ROBERT W. MAYBEE JR., 76, died on Tuesday, Dec. 23, 2014, at his home. Born March 2, 1938, in Waukegan, Ill., he was a son of the late Robert Maybee, Sr. and Juanita (Ford) Maybee. Robert graduated from Huntington High School in 1956 and married Janet Bridge on Oct. 29, 1959, in Huntington. Bob worked as an engineer at International Harvester and retired after 30 years of service. He was a creative person who enjoyed photography, water color painting, and playing the keyboard and guitar. Most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family. He was an active member of First Assembly of God, in Fort Wayne. Previously, he served in various ministry positions at churches in Indiana, Florida, and New Mexico among the Navajo people, whom he dearly loved. Survivors include his wife, Janet Maybee of New Haven; daughters, Cheryl (Art) Griepp of Mansfield, Texas, Joan (Keith) Miller of New Haven and Linda (Jay) Rogers of Woodstock, Ga.; seven wonderful grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; sister, Madonna (Ron) Abbott of Columbia City; and son-in-law, Brent Nelson of Austin, Texas. He was also preceded in death by his daughter, Carla Nelson;and sister, Alice Stallsmith. Memorial service is 2 p.m. Monday, Dec. 29, 2014, at First Assembly of God, 1400 W.
