Edmund “Ed. O.” Ortlieb, 89, passed away Thursday, January 15, 2015 at Grey Stone Health and Rehabilitation in Fort Wayne. Born in Boonton, NJ, Edmund worked as a Technical Engineer with International Harvester/Navistar for 45 years, retiring in 1988. He was a retired Captain, New Haven Volunteer Fire Dept. for 20 years, retired Sgt, Allen County Sheriff Reserve for 17 years, retired New Haven Police Reserve, He was also employed at Bull Dog Trucking and the Indiana Auto Auction.Ed was a U S Army WW II veteran, a member of the American Legion Post #330; Moose Lodge #1480 and VFW Post #2457. . Surviving are his Sons, Mark A. (Jan) Ortlieb of Dandridge, TN, Paul T. Ortlieb of Galax, VA and Terry L. Ortlieb of Tempe, AZ; Daughter, Suzanne (Tom) Peters of Russiaville, IN; Step-sons, Greg Smith of New Haven, IN and Mark (Lisa) Smith of Fort Wayne, IN; step-daughter, Cherie L. Smith of Fort Wayne, IN; 12 grandchildren, 5 step-grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and 7 step-great grandchildren . Edmund was preceded in death by Wife, Joyce C. Ortlieb, parents Edmund and Orilla Ortlieb. Funeral Service is Wednesday, 2:00 pm, January 21, 2015 at D.O. McComb & Sons Pine Valley Park Funeral Home, 1320 East Dupont Road with calling one hour prior. Calling will also be Tuesday, January 20, 2015 from 2:00 pm – 5:00 pm & 7:00 pm – 9:00 pm at the funeral home. Burial in I.O.O.F. Cemetery New Haven, New Haven, Indiana.
