THOMAS “TOM” N. RUTHERFORD, 80, passed away Monday, March 16, 2015, at Parkview Regional Medical Center, Fort Wayne. Born in Wells County, he was the son of the late William and Mary Rutherford. The U.S. Army veteran served his country during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of St. James Lutheran Church, New Haven where he was a faithful choir member. He worked for many years as a carpet salesman, and he was with Advanced Tree Technology / Bruick Brothers Produce for the past 17 years. He was also a 42 year member of New Haven Lions Club and volunteered for both the St. James Food Pantry and First Baptist Bread Ministry. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Lu Ann; daughters, Beth Rutherford of Indianapolis, Lora (Tony) Konieczki of Auburn and Amy (Shawn) Gibbons of Carmel; grandchildren, Alison (Josh), Kristen, Jacob, and Jason; sister, Nona Harris of Huntington; and sister-in-law, Sharon Rutherford of Texas. He was also preceded in death by his siblings, Lois Fisher, Wilma Schamerloh, Lou Ann Brown, and Bill Rutherford. Funeral service is 10:30 a.m. Thursday, March 19, 2015, at St. James Lutheran Church, 1720 St. Rd. 930 E., New Haven, with calling one hour prior. Pastor Dave Williamson officiating. Calling also from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, March 18, 2015, at E. Harper & Son Funeral Home, 740 St. Rd. 930 E., New Haven. Burial in I.O.O.F. Cemetery, New Haven.
