Fay Ronald Richert, 84, passed away Monday, December 21, 2015 at Parkview Regional Medical Center, Fort Wayne. Born in Canada, he was the son of the late Harvey and Mary (Reichheld) Richert. He was a member of Martini Lutheran Church, New Haven and was very active in the Lutheran Laymen’s League. He graduated from Concordia Teachers College in 1954 and received his Masters from the University of St. Francis. He retired in 1994 as the Principal of Central Lutheran School after 42 years in education. In his retirement, he assisted his son at Richert Chiropractic Clinic, worked with several eastern countries’ refugees teaching them English, and he delivered RV’s across the country. He also volunteered for several years at the Allen County election poles.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Dorene; children, Mark (Anita) Richert of New Haven and Monica (Glen) Steiner of Villa Park, IL; grandchildren, Alaina and Sabrina Richert, Kelsey, Collin, Kirsten, and Kyle Steiner; siblings, Erma (Bruce) Waltham, Gay (Lori) Richert and David Richert all of Canada, and twin brother, Ray Richert of Illinois; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral service is 11 a.m. Monday at Martini Lutheran Church, 333 Moeller Rd., New Haven with calling one hour prior. Pastor Rev. Dr. Jim Teasdale officiating. Calling is also 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday at E. Harper & Son Funeral Home, 740 St. Rd. 930 E., New Haven. Burial in Emanuel Lutheran Cemetery, New Haven. Preferred memorials are to Central Lutheran School.
