THERESA LOUISE COONROD, 97, of New Haven, passed away at 4:43 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 13, 2016, at her residence. She was born Jan. 10, 1919, in Allen County, Ind., a daughter of the late Charles Lopshire and Ursula (Brady) Lopshire. She married Elmer Francis Coonrod on Nov. 18, 1939, in the St. Louis Catholic Church – Besancon and he passed away on Nov. 19, 1996. Theresa was a member of the St. Louis Catholic Church – Besancon. She enjoyed spending time with her family and playing card games and reading. She has quite the collection of dolls and bears that she acquired over the past 50 years. She was also a frequent visitor of garage sales. She has a dog, “Cody” that has been unseparable and probably is connected in some way with her love of Westerns on T.V. She also enjoyed the many years spent at the lake with her family and friends! She was a homemaker. Surviving are her daughters, Diane (Pete) Zehr of New Haven, Carol (Bob) Dunfee of New Haven, Betty (James) Finan of Spencerville and Norma Jean (Bill) Irvin; her sons, Neil (Kathy) Coonrod of Monroeville and Phillip (Maggie) Coonrod of Grant, Colo.; 14 grandchildren, Connie Zehr, Susan Hille, Colleen Schroeder, Michael and Scott Coonrod, Jeff (Stacey) and Jared (Sandy) Dunfee, Jennifer (Kevin) Mason, Andrew Finan, Kathleen (Steve) Hanford, Sheri (Steve) Bowersox, Greg (Gretchen) Irvin, Karrie Smith and Amy (Jamal) Riley; 17 great-grandchildren, Amanda and Christi Hille, Tony, Alex, and Hunter Coonrod, Lukas, Matthew and Bryce Dunfee, Britney, Kayla and Brock Mason, Declan Finan, Kiera and Brandt Irvin, Travis and Trent Smith, Caitlyn (Tristan) Fleming and baby Hanford on the way in June. She was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Bonnie M. Zehr; five brothers, Orlando, Bernard, Charles, Eugene and Charles B. (infancy) Lopshire; two sisters, Cecilia Voirol and Mary McCullough. Mass of Christian Burial is 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 18, 2016, at St. Louis Catholic Church – Besancon, 15535 Lincoln Hwy. East, New Haven, Ind., with calling one hour prior. Father Benjamin Muhlenkamp officiating. Visitation also from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 17, 2016, at Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home, Jacobs Chapel, Monroeville, Ind., with a Rosary service at 4 p.m. Memorials to Masses or the the St. Louis Academy.
