NEW HAVEN MAN IN CUSTODY IN CONNECTION WITH ARMED ROBBERY IN OHIO

On Monday, April 18th the Rockford, OH Police Department responded to an armed robbery at Dollar General.  According to the Rockford Police Department, a male subject armed with a gun entered the store and demanded cash from an employee.  Rockford Police were able to identify the suspect vehicle which returned to a New Haven address.  Rockford Police placed an attempt to locate on the vehicle which was located by a New Haven Police Officer in the 5300 block of New Haven Ave.  A search warrant was obtained by the New Haven Police Department and was executed by the Allen County SWAT team.  One subject, John Smead, 49, of New Haven was taken into custody reference an extradition warrant from Rockford Police in relation to the robbery.  Rockford Police are still investigating the involvements of a second suspect.
