“I had a fellow stop by the office today want to make us aware of a mail scam from what is suppose to be Bank of America. The envelope and the document look very real, the request was for information such as D.O.B. SSN address, etc. what tipped him off was the PO box on the return envelope, it was not BA’s he called them and verified 1) they had not requested such information. 2) the PO box number was wrong. Most people would have sent this info without thinking because it looks legit. WARNING, before you give such information out call the legitimate institution, do not call number provided on such documents, and please never give any personal information over the telephone.
