Help Support Central Lutheran School in National Apple Fundraising Campaign

U.S. apple growers are supporting students at Central Lutheran School each time you crunch apples this fall

Want to support healthy bodies and healthy minds in your community? Central Lutheran School is one of 17 finalists in a national fundraising campaign, Apples for Education: Buy an Apple, Help a Student, featuring the U.S. apple industry and partner brand Marzetti® working together to provide financial support to student projects across the country.

Now through Nov. 12, every time a person shares a photo of an apple or related product on Twitter or Instagram using #Apples4Ed and #centrallutherangym,  USApple will donate to Central’s special project to raise funds for sports and PE equipment for the school’s new gym.

Here’s how you can help:

Snack: Grab any apple product you like (apple juice, applesauce – or simply an apple!) and/or delicious Marzetti products.

Snap: Take a picture enjoying the snack.

Tag: Tag your photo with #Apples4Ed and #centrallutherangym.

Share: Vote for your fave school cause by uploading pics to your public Instagram or Twitter account.  For those without a public account, pics may be uploaded through the Apples4Ed.com site.

For every vote, U.S. Apple Association (USApple) – representing the U.S. apple industry—will pledge financial contributions to nominated projects to help them reach their goals. Individuals can vote as often as they desire; each pic individuals upload enjoying apples, apple products and/or Marzetti products counts as a vote.

Throughout the program, USApple will encourage participation with weekly drawings in which participants can win prizes from USApple members and Marzetti, including $100 gift cards for themselves and an additional $100 in funds donated directly to their favorite school project.  While helping schools, people can help themselves by visiting www.Apples4Ed.com for helpful facts about apples’ many health benefits and a variety of apple recipes.

In December, USApple will announce the level of funding each of the 17 school causes will be awarded.  The top three school causes with the most votes will receive the highest amount of funding.

“This grant is an important part of our plan to use our new gym to encourage an active lifestyle for all students and reach out to the community of New Haven,” said John Weber, Director of Advancement for Central Lutheran School.  “We encourage everyone to visit Apples4Ed.com and place a vote for our school!”
