Women’s Cross Country has Four Named Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athletes

Kelly Workman

The Indiana Tech women’s cross country team had four student-athletes named to the 2016 Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athlete list, the association announced last Friday.

Seniors Kristen Cave, Raquel Manzoni and Kerigan Riley, along with junior Kelly Workman, were among the 335 runners that were honored by the NAIA. Tech had the second most student-athletes of any institution in the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC), trailing Aquinas’ five runners.

In order to be nominated by an institution’s head coach or sports information director, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale and must have achieved a junior academic status to qualify for this honor.
