GEORGE R. “BUD” HICKOX, 80, of New Haven, passed away Saturday, March 4, 2017. He was employed with Masolite Concrete for 20 years as a truck driver. Prior to Masolite, George drove truck for Old Fort Supply in Fort Wayne and for Bradtmueller Trucking. He was also a basketball referee in the Fort Wayne area for ten years. Bud enjoyed sports and playing cards, euchre being a favorite. He found joy in watching life pass by and talking with others about it. Survivors include his wife, Betty Hickox of New Haven, Ind.; daughters, Barbara Hickox of Westville, Ind. and Kris (fianc‚, Nik Staak) Fowler of New Haven, Ind.; stepson, Chad (Staci) Salzbrenner of New Haven, Ind.; sister, Sharon (Frank) Monka of Cleveland, Tenn.; eight grandchildren, Kenzie, Logan, Reagan, A.J., Alli, Jenny, Heather, and T.J.; and one great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by a brother and sister-in-law, Richard and Sylvia Hickox. Service is 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 8, 2017 at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Gar Creek, with visitation one hour prior to the service. Visitation also from 2 to 4 and 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the church.
