From the NH Chamber of Commerce:

We wanted to make sure you are informed concerning the I469 at U.S. 24 Interchange project that is being proposed by the Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT).  There was a public hearing held on May 10 at New Haven High School.

State Representative Dave Heine and several New Haven representatives were at the meeting and presented some concerns with the current proposal.

Our main concern is the high cost of constructing a fly over for west bound U.S. 24 traffic going south on I469 and the cost to maintain 2 additional bridges.  The current plan has no loop for southbound I469 traffic for eastbound U.S. 24 travelers and thus the need for the fly over.   This also created several issues for the New Haven bound travelers coming from the east on U.S. 24.

This is a proposal and hopefully will get changed.  INDOT is accepting public input until May 26th and additional information can be found on their web site at The presentation given is available on the web site.  The welcome letter and comment form you can use to provide input is attached to this email.

The INDOT representatives shared a lot of information and were excellent.  Now they need our input.

This project will impact New Haven and the East Allen County community for decades to come.
