The New Haven Athletic Program will honor three athletes from three different decades during its Hall of Fame inductions at halftime of the New Haven varsity boys’ basketball game against Bellmont on December 15, 2017.  Previous Hall of Famers will also be introduced and recognized at the game.

This year’s inductees include two-time state cross country qualifier Herman Schnelker from the class of 1960. Schnelker was a member of the first New Haven cross country team his sophomore year. In his next two years Schnelker would qualify for state both years with a 16th place finish his senior year. Schnelker was a two-time NEIC champ in the mile and a state qualifier at that distance his senior year.

Kristy Lyons, class of 1997,  earned All-Conference honors in three sports, and qualified and placed 9th in the 300 Meter Low Hurdles and 6th in the 100 Meter Hurdles at the state track meet. Lyons finished her high school career third on the All-Time Career point list in Bulldog history. Following high school, Kristy continued her career at Butler University competing in both Volleyball and Women’s Track. Lyons is married to New Haven football coach, Jim Rowland and teaches in Northwest Allen Schools

Kyle Bischoff, class of 2008, also earned All-Conference recognition in Tennis, Basketball and Track while earning a total of eight varsity letters. Bischoff earned All-Area in Baseball and earned a top ten finish at state in Doubles Tennis his senior year. Bischoff continued his baseball career at Purdue earning 4 letters, and earning All-Big Ten Academic honors all four years. Bischoff was also a member of the 2012 Purdue baseball Big Ten championship team.
