EILEEN A. AREND, 81, passed away on Monday, Dec. 12, 2011, at Parkview Hospital, Fort Wayne. Born in Fort Wayne, she graduated from Central Catholic High School; worked as a bookkeeper with the Memorial Coliseum for 20 years; and was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. “She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who always put family first.” She had a passion for art, crafts and genealogy. Surviving are her husband, Richard L. Arend of New Haven; sons, Richard J. (Mary) Arend of Wolcottville and Ronald (Kathy) Arend of Highland, Ill.; daughters, Catherine (Randy) Earnhart of Fort Wayne, Christine Arend of New Haven and Constance (Parker) Johnson of Hendersonville, N.C.; brother, John (Kay) Meyer of Toledo, Ohio; 13 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Norbert and Marceline Meyer; daughter, Laureen Arend; brother, Richard Meyer; and sister, Marita Miller. Mass of Christian Burial is 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 17, 2011, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 4500 South Fairfield, with calling one hour prior. Fr. Cyril Fernandes officiating. Calling also from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, Dec. 16, 2011, at Mungovan & Sons Memorial Chapel, 2114 South Calhoun St., with the Rosary at 7 p.m. Burial in Catholic Cemetery, Fort Wayne.
