MABEL I. POORMAN, 90, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, Jan. 2, 2012, at Lutheran Hospital. Born in Berne, she graduated from Jefferson High School. She married Max Poorman on June, 2, 1945. She worked for G.E., Sears, and Delagrange Ford. Mabel and her husband founded Poormans Heating & Air Services Inc. and she served as vice president until 1992. She was a founding member of North Park Community Church, Daughters of the Nile and Fort Wayne Order of the Eastern Star 432. She was a wonderful caretaker who enjoyed baking, walking, traveling, and spending time with her family. She loved her family and cherished all her grandchildren. She never met anyone who did not become a friend. Surviving are her loving husband of 66 years (799 months), Max Poorman of New Haven; daughters, Arlene K. (Ron) Emrick of Fort Wayne and Kathryn (John) Picano of West Palm Beach, Fla.; six grandchildren three step-grandchildren; and two great-granddaughters. She was preceded in death by parents, John and Elcena Wolff; son, Gregory Scott Poorman; and brothers, Leo Wolff and Paul Wolff. Service is 11 a.. Saturday, Jan. 7, 2012, at North Park Community Church, 7160 Flutter Road, with calling one hour prior. The Rev. Scott Qualls officiating. Calling also from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, Jan. 6, 2012, at D.O. McComb & Sons Maplewood Park Funeral Home, 4017 Maplecrest Road. Entombment in Concordia Cemetery Gardens, Fort Wayne.
