Ruby J. Rath, 83, of New Haven, IN passed away on January 27, 2012 at Meadowvale Healthcare, Bluffton after an extended illness. Born in Muncie, she was the tenth child of the late William and Ida Wilson. She graduated in the class of 1947 from Central High School, Muncie, where she was a drum majorette and band member. Ruby was a member of Ham Radio Operators, Omega Nu Tau Sorority, St. James Lutheran Church, New Haven and the Republican Party. She was honorary grand marshall for the 1986 New Haven Canal Days parade. She was also an active member of Musik Machers, which entertained the elderly at area healthcare facilities for Audiences Unlimited with Polka music.

She is survived by her daughter, Alice (Barry) Worman of Corinth, TX; granddaughter, Donielle McCullough; great grandsons, Jordan and Cameron of Dallas, TX.; loving stepchildren, Venus (Ross) Gick and Gayle Slone both of Fort Wayne and Roger Rath of New Haven; step grandchildren, Ryan (Dr. Heather) Gick of Fort Wayne, Dr. Carrie (Dr. Blue) Davis of Bloomington, Brandon Gick, Travis Gick, Erin Slone, Andrew Slone, Amber (Joshua) Hull and Aurra Tomei all of Fort Wayne; step great grandchildren, Cionna, Jayden, Carielle, and Aniya Freeman and Hudson and Harper Davis; brother; J.B. (Lou) Wilson of Muncie; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband of 31 years, Roy Rath in 2007; five brothers; and four sisters.

Funeral service is 3 p.m. Friday, February 3, 2012 at E. Harper & Son Funeral Home, 740 State Road 930 E., New Haven with calling two hours prior. Burial will be in the I.O.O.F Cemetery, New Haven. In Lieu of flowers, preferred memorials are to Family Hospice of Northeast Indiana – Berne, Audiences Unlimited, or Fort Wayne Children’s Zoo.
