M. ELLAZINE “ELLIE’ PARKS, 87, of New Haven, formerly of Fort Wayne, died Saturday, Feb. 25, 2012 at Parkview Hospital, Fort Wayne. Born in Rome, Ga., she was the daughter of the late John and Bea Hicks. She was a 14-year employee of the Southern Bell Co. before retiring after 25 years of service with the General Telephone Company. She was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America. She was an active member of the New Haven United Methodist Church, the United Methodist Women and the Sunny Senior Group of the church. She loved the Lord, her family, friends, church family, and traveling. She is survived by two nephews: David (Barbara) Hicks of Albany, Ga. and their children, Laurel and Ashley; Greg (Nita) Hicks and their children, Zachary and Mariah all of North Vernon; niece, Debra (Tom) Arnold of Hawkinsville, Ga. and their children, Katy (Dylan Deal), Lina and Andrew; four great-nieces and two great-nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne Parks in 1999, and three brothers. Funeral service is 10 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 28, 2012 at the New Haven United Methodist Church, 630 Lincoln Hwy. E., New Haven with visitation one hour prior to service. Visitation also from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, Feb. 27, 2012 at E. Harper & Son Funeral Home, 740 St. Rd. 930 E., New Haven.
