Save the Date and Come Out For The Indianapolis 500 Community Parade Saturday, April 28, 2012 on Broadway
Plan to come out and help New Haven celebrate the history of the Indianapolis 500 on Saturday, April 28, 2012. After a special tribute to our military, The Mayor will wave the green flag and start the parade at 11:00 am on Broadway and Main. The Parade will continue down Broadway and end at Schnelker Park. More events will continue in the park along with a car show until 4:00 p.m. The parade will feature classic Indy race cars, the Corvette Club, Mustang Club and other vintage vehicles. The parade will also host an Indy 500 Princess and a former Indy 500 Queen from New Haven. Come say hello to various sports mascots. The Racing Shriners are always a crowd pleaser as they show off their driving skills with their mini-Indy 500 race cars. The Shriners’ Horse Patrol also plans to participate this year. We are very excited to have former race car driver Merle Bettenhausen serve as the parade Grand Marshall followed by a meet and greet and autograph session. Spread the word and share in the excitement of this celebration. Be a part of the video and wave checkered flags during the parade. Additional activities will be held in Schnelker Park, including group contests, events for kids and booths hosting various organizations. A complete list of these events will be detailed in a special flier that will be included with your April water bill.

FREE QUALIFICATION DAY TICKETS… By participating in the Back Home Again in Indiana Decoration Program, the City of New Haven will receive Qualification Day tickets – - and they are giving them to you!
