JERRY WAYNE HART, 52, of Bradenton, Fla., died on Thursday, April 19, 2012, when he swerved his cement truck to avoid hitting a small car. Born Oct. 25, 1959, in Huntington, he was the son of Lawrence and Carolyn (Schenkel) Hart. He graduated from New Haven High School in 1979 and received a Welding Degree from Ivy Tech, Fort Wayne. He moved to Florida in 1985 with his family. He worked as a welder until his health forced him to find another profession. From there he worked in sales at Granny’s Motor Sports. Since then, he had also worked for Forest Products, Shrum Steel, and for the past several years was a Ready Mix driver for Cemex USA. He loved family, biking with friends, walking the beach, and had a fun personality. He was known as “Favorite Uncle Jerry” to his nephew and nieces and was “Uncle Jerry” to his best friend’s two children. He attended Church of the Palms and was strong in his faith with God. Survivors include mother, Carolyn Hart; brother, Jon Hart; sister, Lori (Steve) Warner; nephew, Clark Warner; and nieces, Caroline Warner and Sophia Hart. He was preceded in death by his father, Lawrence Hart. Memorial service is 1 p.m. Saturday, April 28, 2012, at Church of the Palms, 3224 Bee Ridge Road, Sarasota, Fla., with a reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Church of the Palms.
