LAVON H. KOENEMANN, 81, of Woodburn, passed away on Friday, May 11, 2012, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Milan Township, she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Tena (nee. Gerbers) Koenemann. She was a faithful lifelong member of Zion (Bull Rapids) Lutheran Church, Woodburn, and sang in the church choir for over 60 years. She enjoyed her many summers serving customers at the Dairy Sweet Restaurant in Woodburn before retiring in 2003. She was an avid bowler, gardener and loved playing cards with family and friends. She is survived by two sons, Jerald “Jerry” (Dixie) Koenemann of Coldwater, Mich. and Roger (Cheryl) Koenemann of Fort Wayne. She will be sadly missed by her eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Lester Koenemann, in 2004; brothers, Wilbur and Raymond Rekeweg; and sister Lucille Reinking. Service is 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 15, 2012, at Zion Lutheran Church, 7616 Bull Rapids Road, Woodburn, with calling one hour before service time. Calling also from 1 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, May 14, 2012, at E. Harper & Son Funeral Home, 740 Indiana Hwy 930 E, New Haven. Burial in the church cemetery.
