PHYLLIS M. QUANDT, 87, of New Haven, passed away Tuesday, July 3, 2012 at New Haven Care and Rehabilitation. Born in Lynn, Mass. She was the daughter of the late William and Lucy Meade. She enjoyed many years working, attending and being part of her congregational family at Emanuel Lutheran Church, retiring in 2006 after 42 years as the church secretary. She was also active in Stephen Ministries. She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Wallace Quandt; children, Ruth Quandt of Angola, James (Yiordana) and Thomas (Cheryl) Quandt both of Fort Wayne, and Susan (Timothy) Quandt-Krauter of New Haven; nine grandchildren; and six great -grandchildren. Funeral service is 10:30 a.m. Saturday, July 7, 2012 at Emanuel Lutheran Church, 800 Green St., New Haven with calling one hour prior to service. The Rev. Paul Shoemaker officiating. Calling is also 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, July 6, 2012 at E. Harper & Son Funeral Home, 740 St. Rd. 930 E., New Haven. Burial in the church cemetery. In Lieu of flowers the family request memorials to go to the Emanuel Lutheran Church, New Haven or the Alzheimer’s Association .
