JOHN H. BAUER, 84, of New Haven, died Tuesday, Aug. 24, 2010, at Parkview Hospital, Fort Wayne. Born in Springfield, Ohio, he was a Fort Wayne resident since 1930, before moving to New Haven in 1986. He was a graduate of North Side High School and a World War II Army veteran. He retired from the Fort Wayne Police Department in 1975 after 20 years. He had since then worked at Hire's Auto Parts, the Indiana Department of Highways, and most recently at Hoagy Wrecker Service. He had also been a part-time truck driver. He attended New Haven United Methodist Church, was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police, and the American Legion Post 47. He is survived by his brother, Allen of Fort Wayne. HELEN GLORIA BREMER SCOTT, 82, went home to be with the Lord Wednesday, July 21, 2010. She was a professional entertainer. Singing and yodeling were her passions from which she never waivered. She was a vocalist with the Melody Rangers Band. She became the featured vocalist with Roy Acuff & His Smoky Mountain Boys & Girls on the world famous WSM Grand Ole Opry. In 1950, she married Billy Scott (emcee, guitarist and vocalist with the Melody Rangers). They were featured on a weekly local, regional, network and syndicated television show. Moving to Forida in 1985, the Scotts entertained at condos, mobile home parks and various celebrations. She had a remarkable ability to make new acquaintances feel like old friends. A stranger was a friend she hadn't met yet. She was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church, Largo, Fla. For eight years her and her husband were coordinators of the weekly Joy Fellowship Ministry. She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Billy Scott; children, Jerry (Sharon) Scott of Hilliard, Ohio, Linda Altergott and Lori (John) Jahn of Jupiter, Fla.; grandchildren, Adam Scott of Columbus, Ohio and Lily Jahn of Jupiter Fla.;sister, Edna Krug of Indianapolis; brother, Orville (Elaine) Bremer of Fort Wayne; and many nieces and nephews. DONALD CHANDLER, 85, of New Haven, passed away Thursday, July 22, 2010, at his home. He was the son of the late Robert G. and Thelma M. (Feist) Chandler. He was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, New Haven, the Holy Name Society, and American Legion Post 330, New Haven. He dedicated over 37 years of his life to military service. He was a WWII veteran, completing 25 missions as a Tail-Gunner in a B-17 bomber. In 1951 he was mobilized to Sioux City, Iowa, in support of the Korean Conflict, and then to Chambley, France in 1961, supporting the Berlin Crisis. He retired in 1981 from the Indiana Air National Guard working in the Aircraft Maintenance Branch, attaining the rank of Senior Master Sergeant (E8). On Nov. 26, 1949, he married Marie A. Bowers, she survives. The Lord blessed them with eight children, 18 grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren. In 85 years he never met a stranger, and went out of his way to stay connected to family and friends. He was a good neighbor and truly one of our Lord's servants. Duane A. Bultemeier, 66, passed into the arms of Jesus, Sunday, July 18, 2010 at his home surrounded by
his loving family. Born in Ft. Wayne and raised in New Haven, he was the son of the late Paul and Frieda (Koenemann) Bultemeier. He was a member of St. James Lutheran Church, New Haven and former member of the New Haven Volunteer Fire Dept. He is the founder and owner of D and B Sales, Ft. Wayne. Duane had been employed by Dana Corp. for eight years, and had formerly owned the Trion Tavern, East End Tavern both in New Haven, S & V Liquors and former owner of D & B Do-It Best Hardware, Woodburn.

MARLENE L. STEPHENSON, 82, of Fort Wayne, went home to be with the Lord Sunday, June 20, 2010, with her family by her side. She delighted in her life as a homemaker and she excelled at bringing comfort to those around her. LOIS M. McNETT, 90, of Fort Wayne, passed away on Tuesday, April 6, 2010. She was a graduate of New Haven High School and Purdue School of Nursing. ARTHUR HENRY F. DROEGE, 98, of New Haven, laid his earthly mantle aside Saturday, March 20, 2010, at Sparrow Hospital, Lansing, Mich. He had lived the past six months with his daughter and son-in-law in Shaftsburg, Mich. Born in Freona, Texas, he was the son of the late Conrad and Louise (nee, Bultemeier) Droege. He loved his Bible study, family, friends, traveling, gardening, Bingo group, working at the church food bank and his music. He had been an active member of UAW and retired in 1971 from International Harvester after 37 years of service. GLADYS C. GOEGLEIN, 97, died on Saturday, March 13, 2010, at Golden Years Homestead in Fort Wayne. Born May 12, 1912, in New Haven, daughter of the late William and Ros-ena (Meyer) Hock-emeyer, Gladys was Valedictorian of the 1930 graduating class of New Haven High School. She married Wilmer J. Goeglein on May 19, 1935, at St. Peters Lutheran Church in Fort Wayne; he preceded her in death on April 20, 1988. She was a homemaker and also worked as a retail clerk for the Allen County Co-op in Woodburn, until she retired. She was the oldest member of St. Peters Lutheran Church; a member and past president of the Ladies Aid; she sang in the church choir; and taught Sunday School for years. She also belonged to "The Euchre Club" which only has one remaining member, Walt, who became a very dear friend. FRANK JUNIOR LANTZ, 85, died on Sunday, Nov. 22, 2009, at his home. Born in Allen County, he was the son of the late Frank and Estella (Smith) Lantz. He was a member of New Haven United Methodist Church and a lifetime member of Carpenter's Local 232, serving as past president and financial secretary. He was also an instructor for the carpenter's apprentice school at the old Central High School. He retired from the construction industry in 1986, after 41 years. After his retirement, he and his wife made several trips to the West and Southwest. He loved Cubs baseball and was a collector of many various things.
