The New Haven Girls' Soccer team was awarded the Team Academic Award (3.27 GPA) for exemplary performance by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America.  Only 13 schools in the State of Indiana received this award.  Overall there were 425 schools in the nation that received this honor; 164 boys' teams and 261 girls's teams.  Way to go Lady Bulldogs!

NHHS Volunteers

Recently, New Haven High School teamed up with United Way to volunteer to read to elementary aged students. Our goal is to improve reading skills and levels of the children at the elementary stage. We have ten students between grades 10 and 11 that have volunteered to read at Meadowbrook Elementary in hopes to build relationships with the younger students improve children’s reading. The students went through a training session with United Way before starting. The students also had to have a teacher recommendation and a written essay to be chosen for the program. We are very excited to embrace this volunteer opportunity!

HIGHLAND TERRACE "CHARACTER CLUB" GETS ACQUAINTED WITH MAYOR

The Highland Terrace Elementary Character Club members talked to the Mayor of New Haven, Mayor McDonald, about the club and some of the things that the club has done such as; sending cards to nursing homes, character announcements, and creating posters promoting good character.

Members also got an opportunity to ask the Mayor a number of unique questions like "what's it like to be Mayor?" and "what's your favorite color?"

The club members also played a round of "thumb ball" (a fun question/answer game) with the Mayor and showed him our 6 Pillars display case. The students were very excited and stated that the Mayor was very personable and they had a lot of fun!

Big thanks to Mayor McDonald for his support!
